Fire Alarm, Class Change, and Lockdown
Foster Fire have been busy during the school summer holiday, providing our specialist and efficient Fire Alarm Design, Supply, Install and Commission services to a large community school and college in North Essex.
As part of a phased programme, half of the school has been completely redesigned, rewired and commissioned as an intelligent Hochiki ESP system utilising the Advanced MX Pro 5 range of Control Panels. By using this equipment we were able to provide the school with different tones for Fire Alarm, Class Change and Lockdown.
Integrating the new system into the old system so that the school had total control of the system from any of their new or existing fire alarm panels, and providing new interfaces to new gas solenoid valves installed within their science classroom blocks.
The school also required VADs (Visual Alarm Devices) in every toilet cubicle, which meant that we were focused on creating balanced loops during our design stage of the project.
Our team worked tirelessly for the summer holiday, and had the system of over 300 devices fully tested, commissioned and operational before the end of the holiday, so that staff and pupils will have early warning of fire or lockdown events. From design to handover; Foster Fire controlled the project and managed labour, access and progress throughout, leading to an extremely happy client.
